After my last trip to Europe, I became convinced that I needed a solo travel experience under my belt. Some may wonder how is that possible since I have an extroverted personality. As much as I love my friends and family, I feel solo travel will provide unique opportunities and take my travel bug to the next level. Here are three reasons why I think you should travel solo:
Solo travel allows you to determine your own schedule.
As a solo traveler, you have the ability to determine the locations you want to see at your leisure. You do not have to constantly check in with someone regarding your itinerary and worry about compromising. The freedom is truly wonderful.
Although you are traveling solo, you truly are never alone.
Whether you choose to stay at a hostel or at a hotel, you never are completely alone. People constantly surround you at all of the locations you visit. From locals to fellow travellers like yourself, you are bound to receive an endless amount of recommendations regarding where to go. You may even have a travel companion for an excursion or two.
Solo travel shows you all of which you are capable of.
Solo travel allows you to grow as a person. From navigating another country’s transportation system to learning a new language, you begin to see how quickly you are able to adapt to unfamiliar situations. What a wonderful feeling to accomplish something that once felt foreign!
As much as I love traveling with friends and family, I am excited to embark on my upcoming solo trip. I would love to expand upon this list in the future as I experience my solo travel adventures.
